Hayden began his musical journey on piano at age 6 and cello at age 10 where he completed them to a high standard before commencing on bassoon in 2016, an early childhood dream after listening to ‘Peter and the Wolf’ in Kindergarten.
Hayden has since completed his LMusA in 2019 and continues to explore the diverse personalities the bassoon portrays throughout the repertoire.
The Sydney Youth Orchestra 2018 – 2021
From Wollongong, Hayden has been a member of the local Conservatorium Orchestras and Chamber Camerata as both a cellist and bassoonist touring regionally and internationally, passionate about promoting the arts and classical music to everybody.
Hayden is also a member of 2021 Australian Youth Orchestra programs.
Hayden is currently in first year studying a Bachelor of Music Performance and Advanced Studies at the Sydney Conservatorium, University of Sydney under teacher Andrew Barnes and is very interested in the development of repertoire from pre Baroque to contemporary 21st century solo and ensemble repertoire.
He was the recipient of the 2019 Wollongong Eisteddfod Woodwind Scholarship and has won multiple concerto competitions.
