Natalie Kim

Natalie Kim fell upon the oboe at the age of 10 after developing a strong admiration of the tone she heard in Gabriel’s Oboe. She is an accomplished oboist who has dedicated a large portion of her life learning to master the oboe. She began playing the oboe when she was in early primary school and quickly fell in love with its unique and unparalleled sound.

After high school, Natalie decided to pursue a career in music, where she currently attends the Conservatorium of Music studying Bachelor of Music (performance) and plans to further continue her study in oboe abroad. Natalie has contributed her talent to a variety of diverse contexts some of which consist of the ARCO Mannheim symphonists program, rising stars program, and most significantly the Sydney youth orchestras program where she has been participating in since 2018. She also has a number of accolades including first prize in the Sydney Eisteddfod woodwind category for all ages in 2021. Natalie is passionate about conveying emotion through her playing and her dedication to her craft has brought her great successes along the way but she is constantly seeking out new challenges and new opportunities to grow as a musician. She is grateful for the opportunities she has had and is always looking for ways to give back to the musical community.
