James Krockenberger started playing violin at the age of seven (learning from Jan Cooper) and joined his first SYO orchestra (Speer) in 2011 when he was nine years old. James was drawn to the violin by jealousy, at first, by his younger sister, as she had just started learning a few months beforehand. However, later, that jealousy turned into joy… Ha! Ever since that day, the violin became part of daily life for James and still is to this day.
James is currently studying a Bachelor of Violin Performance at the Conservatorium of Music, under the guidance of Dr Evgeny Sorkin and is in his fourth year of the degree. He aspires to complete a master’s degree of education upon graduation and continue down that path in the upcoming years.
James particularly enjoys orchestral performances whilst also having developed a newfound appreciation for chamber music. Beyond the stage and practice rooms, he indulges in various activities, including surfing, snorkelling, bouldering, and wildlife photography.
