Hayden began his passion for music with piano at age 6 and cello at age 10 where he completed them to a high standard before commencing bassoon in 2016. Hayden has since completed his LMusA Diploma in 2019. Hayden is currently in third year studying a Bachelor of Music Performance and International Relations at the Sydney Conservatorium, University of Sydney under teacher Andrew Barnes. Hayden has been a member of local orchestras and chamber ensembles as both a cellist and bassoonist touring regionally and internationally and was the recipient of the 2019 Wollongong Eisteddfod Woodwind Scholarship. Hayden joined Sydney Youth Orchestras in 2018 and was appointed Principal Bassoon of The Sydney Youth Orchestra in 2020. He is also a member of the Australian Youth Orchestra performing in Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Adelaide, and Canberra. Hayden plays regularly with the Sydney Philharmonia Orchestra under Brett Weymark and in 2022 was guest bassoon with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra
