Over the course of her musical journey, Grace Reynolds has developed a passion for orchestral performance and is excited by the prospect of an orchestral career. 

 

After studying under Dr Emma Sullivan (MCO Principal Double Bass) during her last 5 years of high school, Grace moved from Melbourne to Sydney to further her musical education. She is currently in her second year of the Bachelor of Music Performance, studying full time at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Since moving states, Grace has been learning from Alex Henery (SSO Principal Double Bass), and has undertaken a variety of work including Bass tutoring, and recording film scores with Trackdown Studios.

 

Grace has been Principal Double Bass of Sydney Youth Orchestra since joining in 2025. 

Grace performed in the Flagship Melbourne Youth Orchestra from 2022-24, and was Principal Double Bass from 2023-24. She has also participated in Australia Youth Orchestra’s National Music Camp (2022-26), ACO Academy (2023), and Young Manheim Symphonists (2023-24). 

 

Grace started playing piano in early childhood and has been playing bass since she was 10 years old, joining ADYO programs shortly after. She learned from David Schilling (ASO Principal Double Bass) for three years.
