Amelia Dillon

Amelia is in her fourth year at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, studying clarinet performance with Francesco Celata. She has performed in the Conservatorium’s Symphony Orchestras as principal clarinet as well as their New Music Ensembles and toured in November 2024 to Japan and South Korea with the Conservatorium’s Wind Symphony Orchestra. Amelia feels privileged to have been part of Sydney Youth Orchestras since 2018, when she started in the Sinfonia Orchestra with conductor Brian Buggy OAM. In the following years she played in SWO and was principal clarinet in the SYO Philharmonic for two years, where she gained invaluable musical opportunities playing orchestral repertoire with conductor Steve Williams. SYO has provided Amelia with many enriching experiences, notably playing principal clarinet in their 2023 Big West Tour orchestra. Sharing music and collaborating with communities in regional NSW on this tour was an eye opening opportunity which Amelia is so grateful to have been involved in.

Amelia is very excited to be a part of The. SYO for a second year and relishes the chance to play wonderful repertoire under such inspiring conductors.
