Alisdair Guiney

Alisdair Guiney is completing his Master of Music Studies (Performance) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 2022. Alisdair began his Cello journey at the Kings School, Studying with Simone Koolhaas, Thomas Tsai, Georg Pedersen, Susan Blake and Julian Smiles. Alisdair has been with the Sydney Youth Orchestra’s for over 13 years, being Principal Cellist of various Orchestras including the Philharmonic and Flagship Orchestra. He has been the SYO Principal Cellist in 2021 and is currently Principal Cellist for 2022. Alisdair Toured Europe with SYO in 2016. In 2018 he co-founded the A.S.H. Trio, and the Gigue String Quartet, the same year, the A.S.H. Trio was invited to attend the Advanced Masterclass at the 2018, and the 2019 Australian Festival of Chamber Music at Townsville. Alisdair has performed with various Artist’s from Boy George (The Voice) and currently the No Frills Twins (Universal), he also tutors young Cellist’s in Sydney.
