Casual Employment Opportunities

 As part of our commitment to supporting young musicians, SYO acknowledges the importance of providing employment and development opportunities. Each year, SYO prioritises musicians enrolled in The.SYO and the SYO Philharmonic for paid employment in a number of roles across the business providing income, industry experience and mentoring opportunities. You can find more information about the types of work that may be available below. 

 

If you are interested in casual employment with SYO, please complete the Expression of Interest form below. You will be required to complete a brief questionnaire and submit a copy of your CV.  

 

Casual Employment EOI Form 

 

 Alumni and external applicants are welcome to submit an EOI, but should note that current members will be prioritised for these positions. 

 

Current musicians do not need to submit an EOI to be considered for paid performance opportunities – all SYO musicians are considered for these opportunities as they arise. 

SYOnline Assistants

Assisting SYO tutors with facilitating the SYOnline Orchestral Musicianship Program.  

Open to musicians aged 18 and over. Valid NSW WWCC required. 

Production/Event Assistants

Assisting SYO Operations team at rehearsals, concerts and orchestral projects. Manual labour and heavy lifting required on occasion.

Open to musicians aged 18 and over. Valid NSW WWCC required. Mandatory Child-Safe training provided by SYO.  

Office Assistants

Assisting SYO Marketing & Digital/Operations Teams in the SYO Office with administrative tasks (ie. music preparation, event preparation, copywriting) 

Open to musicians aged 16 and over.
