Rory began playing the French Horn at age 8 in his primary school band program. He studied under Alice Yang and Rafael Salgado, graduating from St Andrew’s Cathedral School in 2023 with ENCORE nominations for Music 2 and Music Extension. His passion for orchestral playing grew after participating in the Australian Youth Orchestra’s ‘Young Symphonists’ and the Australian Romantic and Classical Orchestra’s ‘Young Mannheim Symphonists’ programs in 2022. In 2024 Rory played a number of programs with the Balmain Sinfonia.

Currently, Rory is in his second year of a Bachelor of Music Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium, studying with Michael Wray and Euan Harvey. A recent musical highlight was touring Japan and South Korea with the Sydney Conservatorium Wind Symphony in late 2024.

Rory joined The Sydney Youth Orchestra in 2024 and is looking forward to performing with The.SYO in 2025.
